Back at last - Unexpected Absence

Good to be back at the key board! After I may have taken my own advice a little too seriously in the title of my last post (Take a Break) shush! don't say that bit out loud. I had a little accident in the shower when I fell and cracked my ribs on the bath Ouch!!!! silly me! Feeling a little better now though so I thought it was time to try and get back into the swing of things and lots of catching up as well. My October birthday list continued on and on with at least six or seven more birthdays but I wont show you all of the cards I made for them as we will be here all week  instead I will pick a couple of them.........

This card was for my brother-in-law
The leaves are stamped from the free stamp on the Craft Stamper Mag and the background paper is from Crafty Individuals

This one was for my wonderful sis-in-law, couldn't resist using the Kanban stamps once again lol!
Hope everyone has a good week, must go now and get ready for work and it looks like the bad weather is about to arrive just what I need more wet and slippery conditions ha! ha! I didn't say that out loud did I? : 0

Take A Break

Thought this morning I would take a very quick break from my birthday list to show a couple of very simple and quick Christmas cards that we made on two Saturday classes from the last two weeks at the Shop.

In the first photo of two cards, we used Pepper's Hide and Seek Christmas, the new Marianne Lamp and Sign cutting die put through the Cuttlebug and the papers are from Bo Bunny. The Snowman was stamped in Archival coffee ink and both images were coloured with Promarkers and Milled Lavender Distress ink, the glitter is of course Glamour Dust... Card Candi makes good snowballs don"t you think?
Sorry the photo's are not too clear as I had to pinch them from off the work's blog ( soz H ) I forgot to take my camera to work nothing new there then ...lol  : 0

On the next three cards we used the PaperArtsy set of Bauble stamps with Distress inks, the holly stamp is from a Paint Fusion Christmas set and again the paper is a 12x12 from Bo Bunny Christmas range.
Bet you can't guess where this photo came from? Yes! you already know you cleaver blogger's
And I did say Blogger's, not what you were thinking!!! : )
Back to birthday's next time x

October Birthdays part two....

Good evening blog land, why is it that Sundays always seem to come and go much faster than all the other days?  maybe it's because the world and all his grandchildren want to visit you on this particular day and then they all stay for tea, before you know it your kitchen is full of dirty pots and pans and it is starting to go dark outside lol.
Sundays just ain't what they used to be
As I said in my last post I would show the card that I made for my sis-in-law using once again the Peacock from a Kanban set of stamps

When I took the photo's I hadn't quite finished the card I still had the inside to do, of course I made the panels for the inside to match the front
Better get cracking and onto the next lot

Next on the list is my granddaughter Lily
her birthday was on the 17th  and a quick card was in order so I used one of my Sugar Nellie stamps - Little Miss Attitude as this just reminded me of her I wonder why? 10 going on 18 if you know what I mean , can't leave my make-up or nail varnish out anywhere
I will post the photo next time as I am missing Downton Abbey.... must run
have a good week everybody x

OCTOBER - The month for Birthday's, well in my family anyway!!

Good evening to one and all hope you all had a good weekend and tomorrow is already Tuesday, at the beginning of the month which is always a good place to start it was my boss Heather's birthday so I made a card for her (thought it might be appropriate) so here it is

October 6th
The stamp set I used is from Kanban  and the Peacock was stamped and embossed onto alcohol inked glossy card with black embossing powder, the hummingbird has been stamped with Indigo Blu flitter glue and glitter added and the peacocks tail is highlighted with a Pearl Pen from Viva. Finally a touch of a feather was added especially for Heather lol She knowns what I mean he! he!
This is the start of many to come I hope I survive and deliver
Lets see who's next on the long list of October Birthdays, Oh! I know that would be Bernadette a lovely lady whom I met through work, Ooohhh! guess what I forgot? to take a photo of the card I made for her, well I used the same set of stamps but this time I made it in Autumn colours with a slightly different layout, hoped you liked it Bernie.... if I can I will take a photo of it and post it later.
And next it would most definitely be my wonderful sis-in-law Patrisha
Both these lovely ladies share the same birthday  OCTOBER 16th
On that date I will finish off my post and show you the card I made for Trish next time.
Before I forget I just want to say Hi to Christine who came home from hospital at the weekend after having her op on Thursday,  you take it easy hun, hugs and best wishes to You xx. Nite nite all have a good week :)

All the Leaves of Autumn

Well it certainly is a blustery day here in the north west I guess you could say we are well into Autumn now, although the sun keeps on trying to shine a little from time to time, no doubt it will be raining tomorrow.... who knows? after all tomorrow is another day when all is said and done " just wait and see"  is what my mum used to say to me, so I will...
Here is a photo of two cards I made at work  for a class later this month I think that watching the leaves falling from all the trees gave me some inspiration for these two
I have used a set of Andy Skinner stamps and the leaf is the free stamp from last months Craft Stamper Magazine, an embossing folder, Distress inks, card candi, small eyelets and some satin ribbon. Both cards are C5 in size and simple by design but I enjoyed making them : )
Thanx for stopping by  x.

Good morning to all the sun is out and so is the washing, I'm making the most of it while it last's lol!

Hope everyone has a good day : )

P.S. I want to send special hugs to my friend Christine as she received some bad news this week, I am thinking of you and all of your friends are too, just wanted to let you know, chin up chuck! see you at the week-end..xx

The Class of Paint Fusioneers

Thought I might as well share with you a couple of photos that I took during the all day class which took place at the shop on Saturday. The  morning session of Fusioneers to be,  started the day by perfecting their crackle  background technique and then moved on to stamping  the Holly and using the painting techniques taught to them by our very own Barbara a lovely lady who has been to a few of  Sheen's workshops in order to learn from the master herself!
Don't they all look very productive!

Lunch break is now over and the afternoon session is in full swing....
Everyone is concentrating on their brush strokes, this time they made a background and then stamped and painted the Christmas Tree's to create a winter scene.
In the end an enjoyable day was had by all, much laughter, tea coffee and cake...yum! and every one of our ladies did a really good job with their projects, especially Barbara  who managed to keep them under control....well done you...and thank you :)

Lorna No. 1

Hello to everyone this fairly reasonable Sunday well the washing is out anyway lets hope it dries!
I made a card this week for my Daughter-in-law's birthday....Lorna no.1 Let me explain I have two daughter-in-laws both called Lorna hence the no.1 and of course you guessed it there is a no.2 as well lol, enough babble,  here are a couple of pics of the card I made for her...(Lorna no.1)......

I have stamped the Sarah Kay image in
Memento Ink and coloured in with Promarkers, the background papers are from Craftwork Cards, ribbon and flowers from stash, Woodware punch for the leaves, pink crystals and card candi. The main panel is cut with a Spellbinders Die

Hope you like it Lorna and by the way Happy Birthday : )

Leave it to The Last Minute!

Hope you are not all too wind swept this morning although it seems to be good weather for kites lol :) Well a little too windy perhaps.
My lovely daughter asked me if I could make a wedding card because her boss had given her and some of the girls who work together an evening invitation to the wedding, I replied "Yes I could do that for you" when is it?
"Saturday" she answered "Which Saturday"? was my next question "THIS Saturday" was her answer. The conversation we just had was on Thursday evening around nine-ish and I was tempted to say No Chance then, but before I got to open my mouth my lovely daughter added and make it a GOOD ONE wont you!!!! and left.... The cheek of it!!  So here is what I came up with....

Sorry the photo's are a little dark but it was all very much last minute  : (

Ladies who Craft

Good morning to one and all, and so fitting to be a Sunday for a special day of remembrance to all who lost their lives ten years ago in the 9/11 tragedy..... God Bless.

This morning I thought I would share a couple of photo's with you that I took during yesterday mornings class,
here we have two of our lovely ladies getting to grips with some Distress stains and Distress Ink pads whilst making a tag to go onto their cards.
This is Barbara who comes every Tuesday to our club morning and she also teaches classes for us using Sheena's Paint Fusion techniques. Barbara has just started her own blog so you can pop over and take a peek at her work.

Work in progress........

Card completed..... Good job Barbara

This is Sue one of our regular customers who comes to a class every week, coffee is most important and needed during the class as it keeps Sue going lol :)

Good and messy, this means Sue is working hard and enjoying herself as she doesn't mind getting her fingers covered in ink.

Satisfaction and a card!

I have to say there's never a dull moment in our classes and by the way you do look pleased with yourself Sue! xx

Good morning out there to all in wet and windy land, well that's what it is like here in this part of the North west and dare I say it? yes even cold, so say I.
Just a quick post this morn as I am trying to finish a Christmas card I started using a new stamp I managed to get from the Shop before they sold out, you know the one it comes in, you love it!, you want it!, it's gone, not this time baby lol, I got one ha! ha!. Anyhow back to this card I made at work last week for one of the classes in September. Hello out there to all., just thought I'd share this very quick card that I made and it is for my Granddaughter Robyn who will be fourteen on Saturday.
Robyn loves football and even more she loves to play the game, in fact she plays for a girls team and I have to say that she is brilliant at it, she also loves the music and songs of Katy Perry, so I thought I could put the two together for her birthday card and this is what I came up with. The main image is a
 S. W. A. L. K. stamp Daydream Believer from Crafter's Companion coloured with Promarkers, peel-offs and embellishments from stash and
Distress Ink Black Soot for some of the background panels. She is sooooo not girly girly but I hope she still likes this concoction  that I came up with! :)
I bet you can't guess which team she supports??? lol xx

Monday, 8 August 2011

This is a very quick card I made for my brothers birthday granted it is a little childish considering he is ten years older than I am but who cares I just wanted to use my stamps from Creative Expressions designed by Lindsay Mason who came and did a demo day for us a few weeks ago and we had a great time! thanks Lindsay & David, it was a good day. My Bro said on opening his card That don't look like me it looks more like Miesha  (his granddaughter). So what, I just wanted to use my castle stamps and I did! he! he!

Butterflies & Birdcages!

OH Look!
 Butterflies in a cage!
Whatever next? maybe they can get out through the bars. someone should tell them lol.....

Just a quick post seen as this weekend has flown by like so many others before,
this card is in the same style as the last one just a different colour. I gave it to my daughter-in-law for passing her final exam to congratulate her as she passed with 94%, What has she passed I here you ask?..... Well ..... she has passed her Embalming  exams, the stuff that undertakers do! good for her not many people could do that line of work.,well someone has to do it! and believe it or not I find it quite interesting and I have learned a thing or two along the way although I don't think that I will put it into practice any time soon, but you never know!!!!!  Anyhow, I have used Distress Stains & Distress ink pads on this card to create the backgrounds and the flowers and butterflies
