Something Oriental - An Orchid from Marianne

Evening everyone gosh it's still rather warm and the sun is about to set, think it's about to get even hotter this week as the weather app on my phone is saying 26 degrees for tomorrow think I might melt or just go into meltdown loll! Hope we can keep our cool during the classes this week. Could do with an easy time for the next few days at least after having an upset this weekend which I don't want to be repeated anytime soon.
Let's just move on swiftly now as I have to be honest and say that I had to cram everything into today to get even the simplest of crafting done and fit for class purpose so I hope you will forgive me as I think this beautiful little set of dies from Marianne Designs deserves a lot more than the effort I have put in, they look nothing at all in the package but once you have cut them they are so pretty and life like but that won't come across in the photo's unfortunately. I think that they could be made into something stunning and would most definitely use them over and over again................
So for this week's cards one 8x8 and a 6x6

Oriental by Nature
This is the6x6 card.

I have used Distress Inks Spun Sugar and Squeezed Lemonade.

Fine tip black pen.
Just a touch of Gold Gilding Wax and my Lantern die from Die'sires by CC.

This is the 8x8 card.

The background has been inked with the Spun Sugar and highlighted with Pumice Stone D. Ink.

Once the Orchid was die cut from white card stock I inked the flowers with Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry and a hint of Seedless Preserve.

The sentiment die comes from Crafters Companion.

Just a couple of photo's this week, however I can tell you that the cards did get the sister-in-law approval award this afternoon, she liked the flowers so much she is now going to buy the dies for herself so they've got to be good loll!

See you soon
I think that I will have an early night so it's off to bed for me and maybe I'll feel better for it tomorrow.

Pocket Page Folded Book

Hooray I have a brain after all! lol! For some strange reason I thought that I had already posted this week's classes but it turns out I was so wrong and it's a good thing I checked because it didn't appear to be the case, something to do with the fact that it had been saved into drafts and had not been published onto the blog, so for whatever reason this happened I am sorry for the delay.

This week we are going to make a 6x6 booklet and the pages will be folded from 12x12 cardstock.
The paper pack we will use to decorate it comes from Docrafts Papermania Capsule Collection - French Lavender. I have used the Die'sire flower die Lace Bloom and Butterfly Die along with my Sweet Pea Tattered Lace die (free on the last magazine)  to embellish the front of the book and just a touch here and there  of Vintage Photo and Shaded Lilac Distress inks.
The butterflies have been cut from Kraft card that has the new product Stick-It on one side then glitter applied which gives a fantastic effect for very little effort.

Here you can see that I have die cut some of the flowers from the papers and some from plain cardstock, they are just awaiting something for the centers to finish them off but I haven't decided yet what to use.

Here you can see the pages on the inside  and no they are not difficult at all to make

I haven't embellished the pages because of the time factor but you will be able to do so at your leisure.

It would appear that a couple of my photo's have disappeared and at this point I am trying to find them but I'm having difficulty in retrieving them. Don't hold your breath whilst I try and sort it out loll! You might just turn a shade purple but at least you'll match your project he! he! Sorry, jesting I am.......

I have to say that I enjoyed making this little book it's one of those projects that can be as quick or as long as you want it to be by the amount you add and embellish, you could really go to town so to speak and make them for any occasion or simply just to keep for yourself, think I will be making a few more of these just for me x
See you soon.

Ah! ha!  found one of the lost photo's, you can now see the three dies I used to decorate the front cover.  : )

Folded Bag Card

Hello, hope you all had a good weekend mine wasn't so good due to a slight incident with a little black cat who succeeded  in getting me up at the stupid hour of 5.15 on Saturday morning as this was obviously feeding time in a cats day and after obliging whilst trying to extract myself from kitchen with said cat in doorway managed to get my foot stuck in the bottom of my PJ's and fell forward and by yanking my foot free to avoid total disaster broke my big toe ! I ask you? and I thought black cats were meant to be lucky, so much for that theory lol! I didn't laugh at the time needless to say  : (

Lets move on so I can take my mind off the throbbing pain that's due to standing all day on Sunday and most of today. This week we are going to make this little cute folded Bag Card using some more of the 12x12 papers from our last class.

Okay so this bag style card will unfold to reveal tabs inside that also open and I think it would be extra nice to make this project up in a wedding theme or better still it would make a perfect CHRISTMAS CARD, there I said the magic words but before you all shout out at your computers no I didn't!!!! no Christmas theme just yet lol ! Well not for a little while anyway. Just wanted to tease you all and say the C word..........
Please bare in mind that it was a little difficult to photograph and the photographer is slightly distracted at the moment.

As you can see I have also made a very quick 6x6 card using the beautiful papers, a die cut frame and a Spellbinders butterfly die.

I'm not sure  about a couple of things yet maybe I will loose the Lace trim and replace it with something different.

Here you can see the inside which is only missing some nice sentiments, maybe some die cuts.

This is the card fully open and I would say that it is just waiting to be embellished to the max........

The last two photo's show the outside and what glue and ink pad I have used as for the gold Gilding Wax not a clue, I think it must just be photo bombing lol !

See you soon x

Shelagh.

The ink pad is Worn Lipstick.

Vintage Rose - post card or door hanger...... Couture Creations 12x12

Hi Ladies, a quick heads up just going to post a photo first of what's been used to create this week's classes and would you believe it I have got toothache which has stayed most of the weekend so I'm going to be very brief as I'm still trying to finish part two of our class in between the pain relief.
Part one is not a card this time but something a little different so I hope you will enjoy it. Here is a photo of what I have used to create it along with the most gorgeous papers from this 12x12 beautiful pad by Couture Creations called Vintage Rose and I know you will all love these.......
I will be back later to show you the finished product of my somewhat troubled labor loll! but for now at least you can see what it is I have used.

Okay so for our first little project we are going to decorate an MDF door hanger

I have  used a combination of flower and leaf dies, and a couple of Sheena's flower stamps.

Back later with more info.
So bet you thought I had forgotten well would I do that lol !
Next up we have an 8x8 card using one of the post card images and keeping it in the same vintage feel as the papers suggest.

As you can see I have used stamps from Sheena's set Wild Briar for the flowers and Worn Lipstick, Scattered Straw and Peeled Paint.
Used my Quickie glue pen to add a touch of chunky glitter to the flowers.

Forgot to mention that I added some of my Renaissance Gold Gilding Wax to one off the embossed panels which has been embossed in one of the rose design folders.

The leaves are die cut out of black cardstock with a Sue Wilson die.

The flower has been stamped in black Versatfine and heat embossed with Clear Powder, coloured with Distress ink.

Well I'll finish here and go get ready for this afternoons class, so see you all later.

Imagination and Sparkle

Hi all, hope you had a good weekend can't say I'm impressed with the weather right now 1st of June and it feels like its going back to winter what's going on? Anyhow they do say that it's going to get warmer so we shall wait and see. Something you don't have to wait for is this week's class and it's something a little different for you to try, some of you may have already tried these products before but we haven't used them in class up to now. This week will are going to use stencils and Sparkle Medium from Imagination crafts. They have such a huge range to choose from and the colours of the sparkle medium are fabulous, I couldn't decide which ones I liked best. Easy to work with and great results what more could you ask for. The photos I'm going to show you certainly don't do these products any justice so please bare this in mind.
Okay here's what they look like and I have used a couple of different colours onto the same stencils.

Here are the two stencil designs we are going to be working with and to the left are the pots of sparkle medium.

This first card is 8x8 and the background is white card embossed in my butterfly folder from Die'sire range by Crafters Companion. I have used the new Distress Ink colour Abandoned Coral along with two colours of the Gold Gilding Wax.
I have to admit the card looks one hundred percent better in real time.

You probably can't see it but I have used acetate in front the main image as an overlay and stenciled  part of the design onto it.

Click on a photo to enlarge the pictures.

The second stencil is long and slim, it's prefect for putting the decorative panel onto a DL shaped card.

I created the background using my Distress inks and smoothie blending tool.
The colours are in the photo below.

The DL card has been embossed in the A4 leafy vine folder.

There's a little something extra just peeking out from the very background, it's a very new product to Imagination Crafts so I thought I would let you try a little of mine to see what you think of it, lol ! bet you're wondering what on earth I'm talking about well you will have to come to class to find out......... cruel me!!

Distress Ink Pads used:
Peeled Paint
Broken China
Salty Ocean
Shaded Lilac
Faded Jeans

Abandoned Coral
Black Versatfine

Clear Powder

Gold Gilding Waxes

Okay that's just about everything so see you all soon x
