A Little Bird Told Me!

Happy Halloween everyone and a happy birthday to my brother - law.
Back this morning with a couple of cards to show that I managed to make yesterday keeping to the same theme as my last two cards, so I decided to use up the little scraps of leftovers from my paper piecing on the Dove card and found that these little and very cute stamps were just the job. Even though they are a Christmas stamp set of Robins by Woodware they can be made to fit all kinds of occasions and I think that is what makes these stamps so versatile.

This first card I made using the same colours as the Dove and the second card I changed for a different look using some fantastic background 12x12 paper by Papermania which comes in different colours with similar designs some of which are already glittered and I have to add is an extremely good price, teamed up with Kraft card, then the birds I have paper pieced and coloured with my Promarkers finished with of course a touch of Quickie glue pen and glitter.  A Little Bird sentiment is from a set of Neighbourwood Stamps by the same name and just perfect for my cards, the Best Wishes was a freebie from Craft Stamper Mag some time ago.

Oh well off to find something else to do.....what was that???? house work!!! who said that? I think maybe
it was a little bird that told me! lol x   Sheilagh.

NOEL Merry & Bright

Hooray! back home at last, Had to take my daughter to the doctors over her eye which is slowly getting worse since that incident back in December 2010
(gosh doesn't even seem like a year ago let alone nearly two!) In case you don't know what I am talking about she was attacked and assaulted by some Polish  people whilst walking back with her friend from their Christmas outing on the way home to her friends house. Anyway it's a long story so I won't go on, instead I will show you the second photo as promised in my earlier post, again the papers are from Woodware but this time they are much stronger in colour and did I mention that they are double sided....

Right that's me done for today, off to finish some more cards that I am in the midst of, using these lovely papers x

Peace (of Patchwork)

Hi to all this morning, just a very quick post for now as I am running late today and will be back later on this afternoon to be a good blogger and report in full when I get back. Here today I have a couple of  photo's to share with you but for now at least here is the first one, a Dove of Peace made up of a patchwork effect using paper piecing in what I would describe as pastel shades hope you like it? xx
The Stamp is Clear Magic from Woodware available Here as well as the papers that make up the dove. the background paper is cut from a 12x12 and is called White Out from We are Memory Keepers, the die cut is a Spellbinders and it is embossed with a Cuttle Bug folder and distressed With Evergreen Bough Distress Ink pad. I have highlighted with a Quickie glue pen and glitter and the heart stamp is out of a set from C D's stamps from my stash. The holly has been coloured with a green glitter pen.  Must dash be back with more later today

Kraft card with an Autumn feel

Not as nice as yesterday is it? but hey it's Monday after all, hope everyone is recovering from their cough's and colds and feeling a little more crafty as it's just the day to stay in and play I would say. Here is another birthday card I made recently using kraft card and a background paper of a similar colour. I made the flower from the paper and Tim Holtz Tattered Floral's  Die which I embossed around the edges with gold powder and did the same to the paper doily. I cut some floral swirls with one of my Marianne Dies in dark brown card and the centre of the large flower is an organza ready made flower that I dipped into some Glitter Magic glue and added some Stampendous Gold Halo mix glitter. When I had finished the card it did have sort of an autumn feel about it and then it dawned on me that it wasn't going to fit into an envelope to be able to give so I then had to make a box for it to go in but forgot to take a photo of the box before I gave it away, however I did remember to take a pic of the card so here it is

I think that I must have taken these photo's
before I had finished the card as there is another much smaller flower which is missing from the card oh well! not to worry it is autumn after all and there aren't many flowers about at this time lol!

I also added a little colour with a red Promarker.

Hot Chocolate anyone?

HI! hope everyone is feeling OK today, I know a couple of you crafty ladies are a little under the weather at the moment so I hope you all feel better soon, Oh and Christine I hope you get rid of that nasty cough, sorry to hear you were suffering with it right now.
So because of the change in the weather and a few bad colds here and there and would you believe that I was told by a lovely lady who is in the "know" so to speak that Whooping cough  is on the increase not only in children but in adults too! That's something from the past and I would much prefer it to stay there don't you agree?
I made this card with a Whiff of Joy stamp that I have had for some time and it always reminds me of hot drinks on bad weather days ( hot Chocolate and chicken soup, but not together ) I think I would opt for the soup : )

Oh look at the time 1.15 pm no wonder I'm feeling hungry, off to get some chicken soup lol!

Before I go this is a photo of the card I made for my Sis-in -law whose birthday was yesterday
The stamp set is from Indigo Blu and I have painted the main poppy image with Distress inks.
Birthday hugs to Trish xxx

Light the way, Oriental style

Hi! to all blog land followers out there, what a nice day it is here in our little corner of Lancashire I hope that it is as nice where you all are : )
Why is it when you go off on the hunt to find something you KNOW you have and it takes all day going through all the possible places that the said thing can be in and you find lots and lots of other stuff you had just forgotten about and at the end of it all after hours of wasted time you just give up and don't find it, tut! tut! If you must know I was searching for a small circle punch but was out of luck this time. I know that I have at least two of the tricky little beggars but didn't find any of them. Oh well, anyhow here is what I have been up to.....
The stamps are Oriental Treasure from
Papermania and the blossom stamp is by
Lavinia. I just love these little lanterns they are so cute and work so well with the blossom branch. I used my Distress Ink pads (Squeezed Lemonade, Stormy
Sky, Chipped Sapphire, Wild Honey and
Festive Berries) a white gel pen to highlight the flowers and copper embossing powder for the lanterns.
The next card I stamped the back ground with Memento ink and coloured the flowers with a red Promarker pen.
The ribbon I coloured with my red Distress ink pad. The Bonsai tree has been stamped onto acetate and has gilding flakes behind it, sorry it doesn't show up very well on this photo, the little coins were stamped and embossed with gold powder. I think that this card would work well for either a man or lady just by changing the colours..........

September Sunset

Thought I would share these photo's I took a couple of weeks ago as the sun was setting behind our house, it's such a pity that I couldn't get a good view without the darn annoying telephone wires getting in the way. If only I could of made it onto the roof it would have been a perfect picture but that's not recommended when one's vertigo is playing up lol! Like it would of happened anyway  : o

It looked much better in real life, the
colours were just stunning x

Best Wishes

Well here we are October already and I must have at least eight or more birthday cards to make, how come this month has arrived so soon? Why? do you find yourself always thinking for a long time about starting these things and less time doing them! and before you know it your late with them again lol...
Here is what I have made so far using Papermania & Woodware stamp sets.......

This cards has been made with the Papermania stamp set and the butterfly, the die cut circle and the words have been coloured with Stormy Sky Distress Ink. I stamped the flowers, butterfly words and background in brown Memento ink, used a quickie glue pen and glitter to highlight the images then finished the inside to match the front.
Sorry the pic's are a little blurred I think that my camera is on the blink.

This card I made using the Woodware floral frame stamp which also comes with the Best wishes sentiment. I have stamped the frame in Versamark and embossed with gold powder, with the background panels I have used one of my Cuttlebug folders then inked over the raised design with Memento ink Desert Sand. The background paper has been border punched with the Woodware crafty edger and the floral swirls are cut from a Marianne Die.
