Fancy a Cuppa? Got to have CAKE!!

Hello to you all, well after a dreary weekend it seems to be picking up a bit weather wise hope it will last as my strawberry plants are just about screaming for my attention and I've only managed to plant half of my tomatoes so far and for some reason it would seem that I have ended up with more than I thought, well more than last year anyway lol! So on reflection it might be a good time to sit down for two minutes with a well earned cuppa and decide what it is I'm going to do with them. Before I do maybe I should show you what we are going to do this week.
Well wouldn't you know it yet another delightful paper pack from Craftwork Cards to play with. Tea any one? or should I say Fancy a Cuppa! And what better than a nice tea or coffee, well it's obvious a nice tea or coffee with CAKE ! so that's just what we've got, Mmmmmmm! Cake! No not before my tea and as it's nearly that time I had better get a move on.
So here we are two cards this week one is 8x8 and the other a 6x6. Both made using these really sweet papers which also come with sheets of toppers and embellishments and not forgetting the matching Card Candi.

Distress inks Worn Lipstick and Tea Dye.

I used my alcohol pens to add some colour to my rather large cupcake and the cherry on top - caramel, pink and a red.

I

The pencils were used to add a touch of colour to the cupcakes on the smaller card

I have made a template of a cupcake then added the cake case and icing for the top which  has a little crystal glitter glue around the outside edges.

I don't know if you can quite see it but I've edged the background paper with my Quickie glue pen and crystal glitter.

I have to say after looking at these cakes for most of the afternoon I'm feeling quite hungry now, so I shall end here cause I'm off for a cuppa

See you soon x

Fold yourself a Card

Good morning 😊 what a wonderful day - for duck's anyway, well I guess we need some rain for the garden cause all those weeds must be really thirsty lol! Don't get much time to get out there and when I have a couple of hours to spare it rains no less so that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it ha! Hope it brightens up at the weekend so I can try and get something done but I won't hold my breath on that one lol 😁
Any how back to the class this week in which we will be making a folded card from one piece of 12x12 cardstock. How you ask??? Well all will be revealed quite soon me thinks.
We will also be using some background paper and Faded Jeans D.I. Black Versafine ink and Clear Powder. Throw in a little bit of folder embossing and a touch of die cutting - voilà there you have it one folded finished project. Oh! Did I miss out the bit with the folding in? Silly me, well I'LL just have to show you that in class........
Posting this now but I will add the photos in later today.
See you soon x

In this photo it's not quite finished yet, still waiting for some die cut flowers to be added.

Handbag Tag Book

Well what do you know I seem to have got my days mixed up this week but hey ho! got it sorted now, so sorry for the delay in posting this week so because I'm late I'll just get right to it.
This week we will be using a chipboard handbag shape to create this neat little tag book. Inside there are envelopes cut to size to make pockets to hold the tags. Patterned paper has been used to cover the front and back, I used my Collall all purpose glue but any of your wet glue will be fine.
The flowers have been stamped in Black Versafine and embossed in clear powder, some are on pearl card and others on the patterned paper. How could I leave out the glitter? Well I didn't, I added some silver glitter glue to my flowers
okay short and sweet, see you soon.
photos will follow shortly x

Who Gives a Hoot! - Woodware and Cheery-Lynn

Well Good Morning, and yes the sun is out but when you are woken with your phone ringing and you see that it's only  5.50a.m and then your other half speaks and proceeds to tell you that there's one almighty smash on the M6 near to Stafford and then you reply "you've phoned me and woke me up at this time to tell me that"! so he say's "Yes your going to work aren't you" not until this afternoon.....!!!!!! How long have I been doing the class on a Tuesday for???????, his reply...... Well your awake now!......................WHAT!!
That ended that phone call, turn over and cat get off me and then shout BLOG!!!! Oh bother.................
So lets begin with and This Week we have two cards both cut with a Presscut Stepper Die which is a dream to use as you will see followed by the same theme for each card which this time is Owls, one is more male whilst the other is female but could quite easily be made into a male version. The only difference is one card is created with a Die by Cheery-Lynn and the other is a stamp from Woodware, same style card but two different looks.

I have used my Peacock Feathers and Mowed Lawn Distress inks for the colour scheme on the stamped Owl card and with the die cut owls I used  my Permanent Markers Pens and some White Gesso, also on the second card I used my Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed and a touch of Vintage Photo, I did add a little Gold Gilding Wax for some highlights and of course a Quickie Glue Pen and some Glamour Dust......well you have to have a little glitter don't you.

Okay, lets see if I can find the photo's then you will see what I came up with for classes this week.......

As you can see I have also used a brick wall embossing folder which comes with a matching die  to cut out some of the brick work and its by Marianne.

I don't know if you can quite see it but I've coloured some acetate with my Permanente marker pens and placed it behind the cut out bricks.
I did the same with the owls.

Think this design makes a really good MAN card lo,!

The coredinations card was embossed then sanded lightly.

This little embossing folder is perfect for smaller projects like these and look great on both sides.

As you can see the panels are also die cut and they all come with the Presscut die which saves you the bother of measuring and cutting out.

Here you can see the side of the stepper card which is so easily created with the die.

This time I used my glitter onto the die cut bricks.
The tree comes from Sheena's Perfect Partners range (stamp and die set) (Enjoy the Silence)

Hope I've not forgotten anything but it's a good job you know with me it's highly likely x
See you soon.

Large Blossom - by Chloe

Hello! hope your all well unlike me tearing my hair out with one's car that's still not back on the road after almost two weeks of replacing all manner of parts from the radiator and engine fan to the exhaust and now the back brakes it would appear that my car is still unhappy and the  hand break doesn't want to work now and that's going to cost me even more money (darn thing bleep.... bleep loll!) although I don't much feel like laughing right now as I had to have an auto election come out and fix the wiring to my heater, not to mention new wiper blades and a hole host of other things in between.
Oh well enough said on that subject lets move on before I decide to cry boo! hoo!

Cards this week are made with a Chloe stamp Large Blossom

 Both cards are 8x8 square.

In the first photo above I have stamped with Black Versafine and embossed in clear powder. Once cut out I used my Aqua pens and a paint brush to colour the blossom.
The rather pretty corner die is from issue 14 of the Tattered Lace magazine.

The frame die is one from my stash so apologies in advance as I know it's not in the shop it comes
from Crafters Companion. I have used a little bit of Tumbled glass distress ink, and if you don't have any watercolor pens then painting with distress inks works fine, (turquoise and greens).

On card two I have used the Decadent Rose embossing folder as I thought it went well with the lovely background paper and this time I've stamped and embossed the blossom stamp with Clear ink and White Powder. I have coloured the embossed panels with Squeezed Lemonade and Tumbled Glass ink pads. The blossom this time is coloured with a yellow Aqua pen, and both flowers have had a turquoise glitter glue added to highlight the petals. I have not yet added a sentiment to this card so it's not quite finished. The background card is an A4 double sided sheet which inspired the colour scheme for both cards.

Apologies once again as the small butterfly die and sentiment stamp are also from my stash but I felt that the die cut panel needed something a little more substantial to bring everything together, if you have a sentiment that you would prefer then bring it along with you by all means.
I quite like the blossom stamp as it makes a decent sized flower which means you don't need very much of anything else to create a larger card.

That's just about it for now so I'll see you all soon x

Window Box card with Craftwork Cards

Hi to all, sorry I'm so late this week but I've not been feeling too well and it's been one thing after another and now I find myself without my car as it has failed the mot for the first time and to top it all it can't be fixed and retested until next week because of the Easter weekend, what joy! NOT..... so now I am stuck or having to rely upon family and it's like I have lost my legs so to speak, it's strange how one feels when you can't come and go as you please but there's not much I can do about it now, I'll just have to grin and bear it.
Anyway here is quick rundown of what we will be doing this week. The set stamps used to make these two cards are from Craftwork cards and are fairly small yet neat but can also create a much larger project if you so desire.
I have used Clear ink and White embossing powder for the Flower Box card and Gold embossing powder onto gold pearl card for the other one. You can use Distress ink pads to colour with before stamping the flowers and leaves, I used Mustard seed, Festive Berries and Ripe Persimmon(orange to you and me lol!)
Here is a list of other things I used:
Flitter Glue
Gilding Flakes
Quickie glue pen
Crystal Glitter
Turquoise Glitter
A clean piece of cut n fry foam
Think that covers most of it
See you soon x
will post pictures later
Having trouble once again to get this post to you trying again now its nearly tea time, here goes oh and before I forget on a very sad note I received some extremely sad news this afternoon and for those of you who come to class on Tuesdays it is with deep regret that I was informed by one of our ladies that our lovely crafting friend Sandra has passed away at home today and Jim (her new husband for only the last couple of weeks as they had finally tied the knot after thirty plus years together) was with her, RIP Sandra our prayers are with you and also with Jim..............
Well with a very heavy heart I must continue and can only hope you will be able to see what's on in class this week.
Sandra you will be greatly missed xx

sorry the photo's aren't too clever but I just could concentrate after taking that phone call, thank you Judith for letting me know x
